Rev.
Bruce Ray
Bruce has been pastor of Kimball
Avenue Church since 1978. Over the past 30 years, he has led
the church to become more holistic in its approach to the gospel
and more engaged in the needs of the community. He has a passion
for living out the Kingdom of God. Bruce is a 1990 graduate of
North Park Theological Seminary with a Master of Arts in Theological
Studies with an emphasis in urban ministry. He is married to
Karren and has two adult children, Ellen and Jeremiah. In addition
to his work as Pastor, he also serves as the Executive Director
of Lutheran Day Early Childhood Center in the Logan Square community.
In his spare time, he enjoys reading (he is especially fascinated
by early 1900s history) and watching reruns of the Dick Van Dyke
Show and Star Trek: Next Generation.
Mike
Langer
As of January 3, 2010, Kimball
Avenue Church has a new Associate Pastor. Michael Langer (Mike)
grew up in the west suburbs of Chicago. He has an undergraduate
degree in Spanish and education. He is a recent graduate of North
Park Seminary. During his studies there, he met his wife-to-be,
Melissa. They were married in January 2007. Besides his wife,
Mike has a passion for music (he has his own band), the Spanish
language, and Latino/Latin American culture. Mike is generally
goofy and enjoys cooking, biking, wilderness camping, and simply
being with people. He is grateful to be a part of the Kimball
Avenue Church community and are excited about what lies ahead
for the work of Kimball Avenue in living and furthering the Kingdom
of God.
